Two Day Experience with Marcus Borg  January 30th and 31st 2009



We are pleased to announce that Marcus Borg will be leading a Lecture Series at the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ on January 30 and 31st 2009.(Details still to come.)  The theme of his talks will be "Jesus, Justice and the Walls that Separate Us" which will tie into the theological and political struggles that we experience in the borderlands and around the globe. 

Marcus Borg is internationally known in both academic and church circles as a biblical and Jesus scholar, he is the author of sixteen books, including the best-seller,  Meeting Jesus Again For The First Time, The God We Never Knew, The Heart of Christianity, The Last Week and The First Christmas.  Described by The New York Times as "a leading figure in his generation of Jesus Scholars," he has appeared on most national news programs.  He is a gifted scholar, but known best for taking complicated teachings and history and making them readily accessable and alive for the common person.
